Accelerated Private Kindergarten

Top Ten Reasons to Choose Our

Private Kindergarten

1.       The KRK curriculum is an AdvancEd accredited Kindergarten Curriculum, written to first grade standards, and aligned to the Ohio Department of Education’s K-12 Common Core Standards in English Language Arts and Literacy; History/Social Studies; Science and Technical Subjects (Academic Content Standards), as well as the National Standards for Kindergarten, and has activities individualized to each child’s growth – at or above grade level.

2.       The program is taught by an individual who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a current Ohio Teaching License (Pre-Kindergarten through Third Grade.) This teacher receives guidance, training, and professional development from the Program Administrator and other early childhood professionals and organizations.

3.       We offer hands-on activities that provide extended opportunities for discovery. Play and discovery give children the chance to learn at their own pace and maintain children’s interests, enabling them to learn new skills such as critical thinking and problem solving.

4.       In addition to academic content, our program structure and curriculum include activities in social/emotional development, technology with the use of our Media Room/Library, art, music, and physical education, incorporated into the daily curriculum.

5.       We offer small class sizes and low teacher to child ratios, where children are able to receive more individualized attention necessary to better foster social skills such as community, cooperative play, cooperative learning in groups, teaching others, getting along with others, taking turns, etc.

6.       We utilize the Handwriting Without Tears Program, which is a research based program that provides developmentally appropriate, multisensory tools and strategies for the classroom. It takes a unique physical approach to instruction that addresses posture, grip, and paper positioning. We use the A-Z Leveled Reading Program, complete with take home books, which are correlated to the Common Core State Standards and focus on reading comprehension, promoting development of higher-order thinking skills, and vocabulary acquisition, leading to our balanced literacy approach in reading and writing.

7.       Each individual child has their own portfolio, which is kept for the entire school year and given to students at the end of the year. The portfolio includes students’ work and assessments, and is reviewed at Parent-Teacher Conferences.

8.       Breakfast, lunch, and two snacks, as well as before and after care are included in the tuition.

9.       Field Trips and flexibility in schedule allow us to take the students on walking field trips, off-site field trips requiring bus transportation, and incorporate various visitors and presentations at our school.

10.    Extra-curricular activities such as technology education, foreign language, large-motor activity on our exclusive school-age playground, dance, karate, soccer, and more, all available on-site, at the center.
